Overview

This is not a scripted sightseeing loop. It is a working-water tour built around real conditions and real operations. You will learn what goes into oyster cultivation, why location and water quality matter, and how the process changes with the seasons.

This tour is offered in coordination with Marsh Island Oyster Company. Coastal Passages does not imply ownership of any oyster leases.

What You Will Do

Depending on tide, wind, and water conditions, your trip may include:

  • A guided overview of how oysters are grown

  • Visiting the operation area with permission

  • Simple guided tasks such as checking cages or sorting (when conditions allow)

  • A shucking demonstration (when available)

Tasting note:

Tasting is not promised. If oysters are available and conditions allow, tasting may be offered at the captain’s discretion.
